Why has the stock price reduced but I don’t see bonus shares in my holdings?

After a bonus issue, the stock price adjusts proportionately as the company issues additional shares to existing shareholders at no cost. While the number of shares increases, the overall value of holdings remains unchanged. In some cases, the price may reflect the adjustment before the bonus shares are credited, as it can take up to two working days for the shares to appear in the Demat account.
