The Nifty50 is the benchmark index of the National Stock Exchange, comprising of the top 50 stocks, by market capitalisation. This index gives investors an overview of the overall market sentiment and allows them to gauge the general direction of the market. All 50 stocks in the index have varied weightages. In the derivatives segment, investors can trade the futures and options contracts of the NIFTY50 index. The futures contracts with monthly expiry for current month, next month and the far month are available. Whereas, options contracts are available for weekly expiry as well as monthly expiry.
