The Nifty 100 index consists of the top 100 stocks by market capitalisation. Each stock has a different weightage in the banking index, thus having a varied impact. This sectoral index does not allow derivatives trading. Several constituent stocks of this index allow futures and options trading with monthly expiry. Stocks from Financial Services, Energy, and Consumer Goods companies make up a majority of the index. HDFC Bank Ltd, ITC Ltd, and Infosys Ltd hold the highest weightage in the index.
