What is derivative trading?

Derivative trading is the buying and selling of financial contracts whose value is derived from an underlying asset like stocks, commodities, or currencies. These contracts allow traders to speculate on future price movements, use leverage to control larger positions with a smaller initial investment, and manage risk through hedging.
