Why am I unable to place orders for certain strike prices in Nifty and Bank Nifty Options?

At Ventura, you can place intraday trades on all strike prices of Nifty and Bank Nifty Options. However, for overnight positions, certain strikes may be restricted as per SEBI regulations, which mandate market-wide Open Interest (OI) limits.

As per SEBI guidelines, each broker must ensure that the Open Interest (OI) on any specific F&O contract does not exceed ₹500 crores or 15% of the total market-wide OI for that contract — whichever is higher. To remain compliant with these limits, Ventura restricts trading in certain Out of the Money (OTM) Options for overnight positions when necessary.

These measures also help promote a more responsible trading environment, as OTM options carry higher risk, especially when held overnight without adequate hedging.
