What does the mandate amount mean in Mutual funds?

The mandate amount in mutual funds is the maximum upper limit an investor authorizes their bank to automatically deduct for SIPs or lump sum investments. It is not the amount deducted every time, but rather a, often, lifelong, one-time permission (OTM) that acts as a cap to prevent unauthorized or excessive debits.
