F&O stands for Futures and Options. F&O instruments are called derivatives because their value depends on the performance of an underlying asset. A futures contract is a binding agreement to buy or sell an asset at a predetermined price on a specific future date. An options contract gives the buyer the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an underlying asset at a specific price by a certain.
