What Are Stocks Under ₹20 & Should You Invest in Them?

Stocks under ₹20 are shares where the Last Traded Price (LTP) — the most recent price at which a trade was executed on the exchange — is below ₹20. The screener pulls every active, listed stock meeting this condition and displays them ranked by trading volume and price.

A low share price does not mean a cheap stock. A stock trading below ₹20 can belong to a company with strong fundamentals that has never undertaken a stock split, or it can belong to a business that has eroded significant value over time. Price alone tells you nothing about quality.

What this screener does is narrow the universe. Out of thousands of listed stocks, it shows you only those trading below ₹20 — removing suspended, delisted, and illiquid counters automatically so the list reflects only stocks where genuine market activity is taking place.

These stocks tend to carry higher volatility than large-cap stocks. Prices can move sharply on relatively small volumes. That cuts both ways — faster gains are possible, but so are faster losses. Treat this screener as a starting point for research, not a ready-made buy list.

Stocks Under ₹20 – Full List with Share Price & Performance

The screener table shows stocks with an LTP below ₹20, sorted by volume first so the most actively traded names appear at the top. Below is what each column tells you and how to interpret them together.

Stock Name & LTP — The company and its Last Traded Price. Any stock where the LTP crosses ₹20 is automatically removed from the list. This updates live.

% Change — How much the price has moved from the previous day’s close. A stock under ₹20 moving 8% in a session on high volume is a very different situation from one moving 8% on negligible trading activity.

Volume — Total shares traded today. This is one of the most important columns on the page. Low-priced stocks are easier to move on thin volumes. High volume confirms that broader market participation is behind the move.

Market Cap — The total market value of the company. Two stocks trading below ₹20 can have dramatically different market capitalisations depending on how many shares are outstanding.

P/E Ratio — Shows how much investors are paying for every rupee of earnings. It is most useful when comparing companies within the same sector.

52 Week High / Low — The highest and lowest prices over the past year. A stock trading near its 52-week low tells a different story from one trading near its 52-week high.

20 SMA / 50 SMA / 200 SMA — Simple Moving Averages over 20, 50, and 200 days. These help identify short-term, medium-term, and long-term price trends.

1M / 3M / 1Yr / 3Yr / 5Yr Returns — Historical performance across different time periods. A stock showing positive returns across multiple periods is behaving differently from one that has consistently declined.

Dividend % — Indicates whether the company distributes dividends. Some stocks under ₹20 provide income in addition to potential capital appreciation.

Bank Shares Under ₹20 – PSU & Private Bank Stocks to Watch

Bank shares under ₹20 are among the most searched categories within low-priced stocks. These typically include smaller PSU banks, regional banking institutions, or private-sector lenders that have experienced significant price corrections.

PSU bank shares under ₹20 often attract investor attention during policy-driven market cycles. Announcements related to recapitalisation, non-performing asset resolution, or credit growth can influence the entire PSU banking segment. In such cases, sector trends can be just as important as company-specific developments.

Private bank stocks under ₹20 are less common and usually represent smaller lenders or institutions undergoing restructuring. For these companies, factors such as asset quality, capital adequacy, and management execution become especially important.

Within this screener, use the Market Cap and P/E columns alongside the bank’s name to distinguish a small regional lender from a larger bank that has simply corrected in price. The 52-week high and long-term return data can help determine whether the current price reflects a prolonged decline or a potential recovery.

How to Analyse Shares Below ₹20 & Pick the Right Ones – Investor’s Guide

The screener provides the list. Making an informed investment decision requires a structured approach because stocks under ₹20 often carry risks that differ from those of larger, more established companies.

Start with volume. The screener is sorted by volume because liquidity matters. Stocks with strong daily trading volumes are generally easier to enter and exit. A stock trading 50 lakh shares a day is very different from one trading only a few hundred shares.

Use the 52-week range for context. A stock trading near its yearly low has been under pressure, while one trading near its yearly high may be demonstrating strength. The context behind the current price matters.

Review the SMA columns. The 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages help identify trend direction. A stock trading above all three moving averages is generally in an upward trend, while one below all three has been weakening across multiple timeframes.

Study multi-year returns. The 1-year return shows recent performance, but the 3-year and 5-year returns reveal how much value the stock has created or destroyed over a longer period.

Use P/E and Dividend Yield for additional context. A stock under ₹20 with earnings, a reasonable valuation, and a dividend history presents a different profile from a company with no profits and no shareholder returns.

Always check market capitalisation. A low share price does not necessarily mean a small company. Some businesses worth thousands of crores trade below ₹20 simply because they have a large number of shares outstanding.

Nothing on this page constitutes investment advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security. The stocks listed are those with an LTP below ₹20 at the time of data capture and are sourced from public exchange feeds, which may be delayed. Suspended, delisted, and illiquid securities are excluded where applicable. Past performance is not indicative of future results. This screener should not be relied upon for real-time trading decisions. Investors are advised to consult a SEBI-registered investment advisor before making any investment decisions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Any stock where the Last Traded Price — the most recent price at which a trade executed on the exchange — is below ₹20 qualifies. The screener applies this as a live filter, so stocks whose LTP crosses above ₹20 during the session drop off the list automatically. Suspended, delisted, and illiquid stocks are excluded regardless of price.

A low share price by itself says nothing about safety. Some stocks under 20 rs belong to fundamentally sound businesses that have simply never split their shares or have a high share count keeping the price low. Others are at low prices because the business has deteriorated significantly. Use the P/E, return, and market cap columns in the screener alongside proper fundamental research before drawing any conclusion about a specific stock.

Below 20 rs stocks vary enormously in liquidity. Some trade crores of shares daily. Others trade a few hundred. Sorting by volume puts the most actively traded and liquid names at the top — where real price discovery is happening — and pushes thinly traded stocks lower where they belong. A stock that is only moving because of two or three trades a day is not a meaningful opportunity for most investors.

The 52-week range represents the overall price range over the last year. An LTP close to the 52 week low suggests that the stock has been trending downward and is at its all time low. When the stock is trading around the 52-week high, it indicates that the stock has been on the recovery track and is trading close to its highest recent price but yet below ₹20. The risk and opportunity profiles of these two situations are very different from each other; each is treated accordingly.
