Stocks to watch today featuring Coal India, Tata Power, Bharat Electronics and Adani Energy

Coal India, Tata Power, Bharat Electronics, Tata Chemicals and Adani Energy Solutions are among the key stocks to watch today following their quarterly earnings and major corporate developments. While several companies reported strong revenue and profit growth, investors will also track updates such as Adani Energy's QIP, Meesho's block deal and Tata Motors' production disruption in Gujarat.

Some firms will definitely make the list as we see their results for the June quarter, and a couple have seen important corporate events that could drive their stock prices.

Coal India performed fairly steady during the quarter where consolidated net profit increased 0.6% to ₹8,852.1 crore. Consolidated revenue saw a 7.8% increase to ₹46,254.8 crore, which is a strong performance in operations.

The Tata Power Company showed good results during the quarter where consolidated net profit was up 11% to ₹1,401 crore and revenue was up 5.6% to ₹19,051.3 crore.

Happiest Minds Technologies also came up with impressive figures, where profit was up 18.3% to ₹67.6 crore and revenue was up 14.3% to ₹628.5 crore.

Today's Market Update

Defence and industrial companies deliver robust growth

There was good operational performance from Bharat Electronics, which witnessed a 8.7% growth in its consolidated net profit to ₹1,054.3 crore and an increase in its revenues by 25% to ₹5,547 crore.

The profit for Wheels India grew by 28.2% to ₹38.3 crore, whereas the company's revenues rose by 17.8% to ₹1,491 crore.

There were very good results from Usha Martin, whose profit went up 40.7% to ₹142 crore and revenues increased by 16.4% to ₹1,033 crore.

One of the best-performing stocks turned out to be CCL Products India, where the profit grew 61.3% to ₹116.9 crore and the revenues increased by 13.7% to ₹1,200.4 crore.

Gravita India also impressed investors with a 14.1% increase in profit and a sharp 41.8% rise in revenue during the quarter.

Mixed earnings from select companies

Loss for Tata Chemicals in the quarter came at ₹17 crore, which was a loss when compared to profit of ₹252 crore last year. But its revenues grew by 14.4% to ₹4,255 crore.

Disappointing performance from Godfrey Phillips India, where profits dipped by 44.3% to ₹198.4 crore, while revenues dropped by 18.9% to ₹1,205.5 crore.

Profit and net interest income growth in Northern Arc Capital came in positive, growing by 17.6% and 44.2%, respectively.

Corporate developments to keep an eye on

Beyond earnings, there were a number of corporate developments in various companies.

There could be some interest in Meesho following news about Elevation Capital selling its ₹1,200 crore stake via block sale.

There was a change in leadership of InterGlobe Aviation which appointed Kiran Thadimarri as Chief Financial Officer and re-designated outgoing Chief Financial Officer Gaurav Negi as Advisor to the Managing Director.

Adani Energy Solutions commenced with its Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) at a base price of ₹1,698.15 and may also be offering up to 5% discount on the same, thereby making QIP another market mover.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles informed that due to the heavy floods in Gujarat, its manufacturing plant and those of its suppliers located at Sanand have been affected.

TVS Motor Company has raised its stake in TVS Credit Services to 85.15% by acquiring 4.39% more stake for ₹711 crore.

Pfizer informed exchanges that its Chief Financial Officer, Amit Agarwal, will step down effective October 8, 2026, while Zaggle Prepaid Ocean Services signed a three-year partnership with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles to provide fleet payment and corporate credit card solutions, making both stocks worth tracking in today's session.
