Jio Platforms Limited, the telecom and digital services arm of Reliance Industries Ltd, has filed its Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) for an initial public offering (IPO) of ₹30,213 crore. The public issue opens on October 21, 2026, and closes on October 23, 2026. The price band of ₹1,065–₹1,119 per share is likely to make it the largest IPO by issue size in India.

The anchor investor bidding date is October 19, with allotment expected on October 26 and listing provisionally scheduled for October 28, 2026.

Jio Platforms IPO News: Filing of Prospectus

Jio Platforms filed its RHP with the Registrar of Companies on October 14, 2026, ahead of the public offering. The issue is a fresh issue of equity shares, and there is no offer for sale (OFS) by existing shareholders.

The company plans to sell up to 27 crore equity shares of face value ₹10 each. The offer could fetch ₹30,213 crore at the top end of the price band.

The IPO could value Jio Platforms at around $137 billion, making it one of the most valuable listed companies in India after its proposed stock market listing.

What Will Jio Platforms Do With the IPO Proceeds?

A large part of the money collected will be used to pay down debt.

Jio Platforms plans to use up to ₹27,500 crore to partially or fully repay borrowings of its subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, the prospectus said.

Net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, subject to applicable regulatory limits.

As opposed to an OFS, a fresh issue enables the company to raise capital directly rather than proceeds flowing to selling shareholders. Debt repayment could also lower future interest costs and strengthen its balance sheet depending on the ultimate use of the funds.

Jio IPO Opening Date: How Big Is the Business and Its Effect on the Market?

Jio Platforms has businesses in telecom, broadband, enterprise connectivity, cloud services and digital applications.

The telecom business has about 533 million customers and transmits around 60% of India’s mobile data traffic. The company is also growing its presence in 5G, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.

Global technology companies Meta Platforms and Google are among the current shareholders.

The IPO announcement has also brought listed telecom companies into the spotlight. Reliance Industries shares rose 3.44% on October 15, while Bharti Airtel Ltd gained around 3.3%.

The proposed listing will give a separate traded market valuation to Jio’s telecom and digital businesses. However, tariff competition, capex needs, regulatory changes and the pace of monetising digital services remain key factors.

Conclusion

The Indian primary market has a new big story in the form of the Jio Platforms IPO, which has a fresh issue of ₹30,213 crore and is backed by one of the largest telecom subscriber bases in the country. Its launch on October 21 will put more focus on Jio’s financials, debt reduction plans and its long-term digital business expansion.
