Trent share price today: What led to the 6% surge in the stock?

Trent’s shares were up after the company reported consolidated net profit of ₹468 crore for the September quarter, up 25% YoY, compared with ~₹373 crore in Q2FY26.

Before the company announced its earnings post-market hours, the stock closed at ₹2,861.70 down 1.8% on October 29. The results led to renewed buying and the share price was up to ₹3,060 during Friday morning session.

The rise was mainly due to better profits, higher operating margins and a recovery in sales growth at existing fashion stores.

Trent Q2 2026 Results: Profit up 25%, revenue up 22%

Trent reported consolidated operating revenue of ₹5,873 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up 22% YoY over ₹4,818 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Operating EBITDA was up 37% YoY at ₹785 crore, on the back of a stronger operating performance, despite inflationary pressure on input costs.

Key consolidated financial highlights:

Financial indicatorQ2FY27YoY growth
Revenue from operations₹5,873 crore+22%
Operating EBITDA₹785 cr+37%
Net profit₹468 cr+25%
H1FY27 revenue₹11,628 cr+20%
H1FY27 net profit₹986 cr+24%

Standalone revenue increased 23% YoY to ₹5,788 crore and net profit increased 9% to ₹490 crore. The reason the profit growth is different on a standalone basis and consolidated basis is the way the company reports its results and the contribution of the other businesses it has.

Supports Expansion of Westside and Zudio

Trent operates and owns two popular fashion retail brands, Westside and Zudio, which continue to fuel its store expansion strategy.

The company added 17 Zudio stores and 10 Westside stores during Q2FY27 to take its total store network across fashion and lifestyle formats to 1,342 as of September 30, 2026.

Notably, Zudio also crossed the 1,000 store mark during the quarter, demonstrating the growth of its value-fashion business.

Fashion like-for-like sales growth accelerated to mid-single digits from low-single digit growth in previous quarters. This suggests growth in sales in like-for-like stores and development of the retail network.

What’s the outlook for the Trent share price?

Trent’s quarterly results reflect sustained demand for its fashion, aided by store openings and better operating efficiency. We saw gross margin expand about 120 basis points year-over-year to 44.5% despite pressure from raw material costs.

But future profitability will depend importantly on rising input prices, operating expenses and changes in consumer spending.

Going ahead, the company’s earnings performance will continue to depend largely on its ability to grow sales at its existing stores and expand Westside and Zudio. The September-quarter result is the market’s positive reaction to Friday’s rally but the direction of the share price will depend on operating performance and market conditions.
