Karur Vysya Bank shares surged over 10% after the lender reported a 45% YoY jump in Q1FY27 net profit, its highest-ever quarterly profit. Strong loan and deposit growth, improved net interest margin, and healthy operating performance boosted investor sentiment. The bank also revised its MCLR rates effective July 22, 2026.
Karur Vysya Bank shares soared above 10% intraday on the BSE on July 21 amid the private bank’s strong financial performance in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27). This sharp rise was witnessed in spite of the weak overall market sentiment on the back of good performance in terms of profit growth, margins and business expansion.
The Karur Vysya Bank stock was trading 10.50% higher from its previous close of ₹301.35 to reach an intraday high of ₹333 with an opening price of ₹308. On Monday, the private bank had declared its Q1FY27 financial performance.
Karur Vysya Bank Q1FY27 Results
Karur Vysya Bank witnessed a 44.92% YoY growth in net profit, which stood at ₹756 crore for the quarter ending June 2026. This is the highest quarterly profit ever reported by the bank.
Karur Vysya Bank's net interest margin (NIM) saw a rise of 48 basis points YoY and 2 basis points QoQ and stood at 4.34%, showcasing high profitability. Further, the bank's PPoP saw a rise of 36.15% YoY, indicating the good core operating performance of the bank.
On the business side, the bank managed to report excellent growth in all important indicators. The loan book of the bank grew 17.13% YoY, while the deposits of the bank registered a growth of 14.94% YoY. CASA deposit grew 15.25% YoY and 8.53% QoQ, with the CASA ratio being 27.55%.
Speaking on the business numbers, MD & CEO Ramesh Babu B mentioned that the total business of the bank is ₹2,27,267 crore with 6% QoQ and 16% YoY growth. Further, the advances crossed the mark of ₹1 lakh crore, reaching ₹1,04,680 crore, growing 6% QoQ. Further, the deposits of the bank have grown to ₹1,22,587 crore with 6% QoQ growth
MCLR Revised From July 22
Moreover, the revised rates for marginal cost of funds based lending rates (MCLR) have been introduced by the bank from July 22, 2026. The overnight MCLR rate was raised to 8.85%, whereas 8.75% earlier. One month MCLR rate was increased from 8.65% to 8.75%, three-month MCLR rate is kept constant at 8.95%. Six-month MCLR rate is revised to 9.15% from 9.10%.

The Karur Vysya Bank stock has witnessed a rise of about 20% this year. During the last three years, the stock has rallied by 201%, while in the past five years, it has given a return of 680%, which makes it a multibagger. The 52-week high and 52-week low prices of the stock were ₹343.55 and ₹201.80, respectively, recorded on February 25, 2026 and September 4, 2025.
