IRCON International Limited has been awarded a ₹458.14 crores Tato-I Hydro Electric civil works contract from North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO). The contract involves construction and infrastructure development for the Tato-I Hydro Electric project in Arunachal Pradesh. It has been granted as part of Package-I, under an item-rate format.
Scope of the Hydro Electric contract
The contract includes civil works comprising headworks and allied works, headrace channel, headrace pipe, intake, and headrace tunnel. Additional components include the construction of surge shafts, pressure shafts, valve houses, powerhouses, and associated infrastructure.
These structures are critical in the operation and efficiency of hydroelectric projects, particularly in high-altitude regions such as Arunachal Pradesh.
Project execution timeline and value
The total value of the contract is ₹458,14,42,765.23, inclusive of all applicable taxes and duties. The time period for execution has been defined as 45 months from the date of award.
IRCON is expected to mobilise technical resources and manpower for smooth execution over the course of nearly four years.
