Websol Energy System Limited, incorporated in 1990, is a leading Indian manufacturer of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic cells and modules. The company is listed on both the NSE and BSE and operates an integrated, state-of-the-art facility at the Falta Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in West Bengal. As of March 31, 2025, the facility had an installed capacity of 600 MW for solar cells and 550 MW for solar modules, with an additional 600 MW of cell capacity scheduled for commissioning in FY 2025–26. The registered office of the company is in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Websol manufactures solar photovoltaic cells and modules catering to utility-scale projects, rooftop installations, and commercial and industrial (C&I) solar applications. In FY 2024–25, the company served customers across 15 Indian states, with exports contributing NIL, reflecting its domestic focus. The company holds several quality and safety certifications, including ISO 9001:2015, IEC 61215, IEC 61730, UL 1703, BIS, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, reinforcing its commitment to excellence and compliance with global benchmarks.

Tracing its history, Websol began operations with an annual capacity of about 1 MW in 1994. In 2009, it established its integrated facility at Falta SEZ, which accelerated its scale-up. In 2024, Websol undertook upgrades in its manufacturing equipment and adopted advanced cell technologies, aligning itself with global efficiency standards. Looking forward, the company is investing in new-generation technologies such as Topcon and Perovskite cells to maintain its leadership in India’s solar manufacturing landscape.
