The company is primarily engaged in manufacturing and assembly of auto components including exhaust systems, catalytic converters, suspension systems and sheet metal components, and is a ‘Tier I’ vendor to major automobile and electronics OEMs, with manufacturing facilities across multiple Indian states. SMIL serves both domestic and international markets and operates a state-of-the-art R&D centre at Mahindra World City, Chennai, alongside a design and development centre in Namyang, South Korea.
