Jindal Stainless Limited is an Indian stainless steel manufacturer with a legacy dating back to 1970 under the leadership of Shri O. P. Jindal. In 1978, the company produced India’s first indigenously manufactured stainless steel, laying the foundation for a home-grown enterprise built for the world. The Company manufactures stainless steel flat products across Austenitic, Ferritic, Martensitic and Duplex grades. Its product range includes Ferro Alloys, Stainless Steel Slabs and Blooms, Hot Rolled Coils, Plates and Sheets, Cold Rolled Coils and Sheets, and specialty products such as Razor Blade Steel, Precision Strips and Long Products.
Jindal Stainless operates across India with four plants and nine offices, along with one international office. It serves customers in 13 Indian states and 49 countries. As of FY 2024–25, the Company had 19 subsidiaries, both Indian and overseas, forming part of its consolidated group.
Key milestones include the expansion of the Jajpur unit to 1.1 million tonnes in 2023, taking total capacity to 1.9 million tonnes along with Hisar’s 0.8 million tonnes. A strategic investment plan of around ₹5,400 crore was announced, coupled with the 100% acquisition of Chromeni Steels Limited in 2024 to strengthen value-chain positioning. In 2025, the Company also commissioned Odisha’s largest captive industrial solar plant and entered a long-term renewable power agreement via a subsidiary.
