Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) was incorporated on February 26, 1934, and is listed on BSE and NSE. The company is mainly engaged in the construction of warships, operating under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence and holds the distinction of being the first shipyard in India to build warships for the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard. Over the decades, GRSE has delivered more than 100 state-of-the-art warships and has diversified into commercial vessels, advanced deck machinery, marine diesel engines, naval surface guns and Bailey-type portable steel bridges. The President of India holds 74.50% of the company’s equity share capital.
