Summary:

India and the US are nearing a bilateral trade agreement, with preferential tariffs for Indian exporters remaining a key demand. The proposed deal could improve India’s competitiveness in the US market, particularly for textiles, engineering goods, leather and manufacturing sectors.

Indian stocks are likely to remain in focus as several companies announced business developments, regulatory actions, fundraising plans and management changes. Here are the key stocks to watch in today's session.

Premier Energies

Premier Energies has entered into a binding term sheet with RCT India, a part of Germany-based RCT Group, to establish a joint venture for setting up a 12 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Telangana.

The proposed facility will be developed through Premier Energies' subsidiary, Premier Battery Technologies. The first phase of the project is planned with a capacity of 6 GWh. The development marks an expansion into battery energy storage manufacturing and could strengthen the company's presence across the broader renewable energy value chain.

Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company

Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company is in focus after the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) imposed a penalty of ₹1 crore on the insurer.

The penalty follows the regulator's consideration of submissions made by the company and a personal hearing. The action relates to certain aspects pertaining to policyholder interests.

Neogen Chemicals

Neogen Chemicals has launched its qualified institutional placement (QIP) to raise capital from institutional investors. The company has fixed the floor price at ₹2,189.73 per share.

The company may offer a discount of up to 5% on the floor price, making the fundraising exercise an important development for investors to track. The QIP could provide additional capital to support the company's growth and expansion plans.

Bharat Forge

Bharat Forge is also among the stocks to watch after Bharat Forge Holding GmbH (BFH), its wholly owned step-down subsidiary, merged with Bharat Forge Global Holding GmbH.

Bharat Forge Global Holding GmbH is the company's wholly owned subsidiary and the immediate holding company of BFH. According to the company, the merger has been undertaken to simplify its corporate structure and will have no implication for its standalone or consolidated financial statements.

Kotak Mahindra Bank

Kotak Mahindra Bank is in focus following the resignation of Manish Kothari. He has stepped down as Group President and Head – Commercial Bank, as well as Senior Management Personnel of the bank.

His resignation will be effective September 30. Investors will track further developments around the transition and the bank's commercial banking leadership.

HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank has received another favourable judgment in matters related to Credit Suisse Additional Tier 1 (CS AT1) bonds.

A Bahrain court rejected two claims filed against the bank by investors in CS AT1 bonds. The court rejected the allegations and concluded that the investors had not provided sufficient admissible evidence to substantiate their claims against the bank or establish that they had suffered any loss due to the bank.

The latest ruling follows five other similar matters rejected by the Bahrain court between July and August, taking the total number of favourable judgments for HDFC Bank to seven.
