IRCON has secured a ₹458.14 crores civil works order from NEEPCO. The contract is to be completed in 45 months.

IRCON International Limited has been awarded a ₹458.14 crores Tato-I Hydro Electric civil works contract from North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO). The contract involves construction and infrastructure development for the Tato-I Hydro Electric project in Arunachal Pradesh. It has been granted as part of Package-I, under an item-rate format.

Scope of the Hydro Electric contract

The contract includes civil works comprising headworks and allied works, headrace channel, headrace pipe, intake, and headrace tunnel. Additional components include the construction of surge shafts, pressure shafts, valve houses, powerhouses, and associated infrastructure.

These structures are critical in the operation and efficiency of hydroelectric projects, particularly in high-altitude regions such as Arunachal Pradesh.

Project execution timeline and value

The total value of the contract is ₹458,14,42,765.23, inclusive of all applicable taxes and duties. The time period for execution has been defined as 45 months from the date of award.

IRCON is expected to mobilise technical resources and manpower for smooth execution over the course of nearly four years.

Regulatory disclosure under SEBI norms

The company disclosed the development under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, 2015. It confirmed that the project is domestic in nature and has no related-party transactions involved.

There is no promoter, promoter group, or group company interest in NEEPCO, as specified in the official disclosure. The transaction is not classified under any related-party framework and has been awarded at arm's length.

Infrastructure and power development focus

The Tato-I Hydro Electric project is one of the significant upcoming power infrastructure initiatives in the northeast. It aims to boost clean energy generation capacity while improving energy distribution across remote areas in Arunachal Pradesh.

NEEPCO is a central public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Power. It has been instrumental in setting up hydroelectric and thermal projects in the region.

No foreign association or delay involved

The contract is domestic in nature. No international entities are involved in the awarding or execution of this project. IRCON has confirmed there are no delays or extensions involved at the time of contract issue.

All conditions of award and execution are in line with project norms and national infrastructure development standards.
