What is DRF?

A Dematerialisation Request Form (DRF) is a crucial document used by investors in India to convert physical share certificates or other securities (like bonds) into electronic form, storing them in a Demat account for easier, safer, and more convenient management and trading. Investors submit this form, along with their physical certificates, to their Depository Participant (DP) or broker, who then initiates the process of holding these securities digitally, avoiding risks like loss or damage associated with paper documents.
