What is DP name in a Demat account?

In a Demat account, the DP name is the name of the Depository Participant through whom you opened your Demat Account, for example Ventura Securities Limited. The DP acts as an intermediary, linking you to the depository, such as CDSL or NSDL, that is holding your electronic or dematerialised securities.
