Sweep Account

A sweep account is a type of bank or brokerage account that automatically transfers — or 'sweeps' — idle cash balances above a set threshold into a higher-yielding investment vehicle, such as a money market fund, overnight deposits, or short-term securities, at the end of each business day. The swept funds are automatically returned to the account when needed for transactions.
