Coforge Share Price Surges 10% After Strong Q1FY27 Results
Coforge Ltd, an IT services firm providing digital transformation, cloud, artificial intelligence and engineering services, figured among the biggest winners in the Nifty 500 index.
The share price rose by 10% on July 28, aided by impressive Q1FY27 financial performance. The volumes increased to 91 lakh stocks versus a 30-day average trading volume of 33 lakh stocks.
The gains were triggered by robust revenue growth, margin improvement and a buoyant order pipeline. Revenue grew by 49% year-on-year to ₹5,528 crore. EBITDA more than doubled from ₹626 crore to ₹1,123 crore, while EBITDA margin improved by 285 basis points to 20.3%.
Net profit surged more than twofold, up 110% year-on-year to ₹519 crore. The company’s book of executable orders was at $2.23 billion.
Lodha Shares Gain 7% on Record Quarterly Profit
Lodha, which is one of India’s leading real estate developers, registered gains of 7% following the announcement of record profits after tax for the quarter. The company’s stock recorded greater activity with trade volumes reaching 65.3 lakh shares as opposed to an average trade volume of 33.2 lakh shares during the month.
The company announced a doubling of profits to ₹1,373 crore in Q1FY27. Revenues increased by 43% year-on-year to ₹4,997 crore, while pre-sales increased by 4% to ₹4,629 crore. Collections increased to ₹4,205 crore, which represented an increase of 46%.
The EBITDA of the company grew by 79% to ₹2,150 crore, with margins growing by 900 basis points to 43%. The company’s net debt fell by ₹446 crore to ₹4,931 crore due to reduced financing expenses. The management of the company anticipates growth in net profit by 20% in future years.
R R Kabel Gains Over 5% After Profit Growth
Wire & cable manufacturer R R Kabel saw its stock price rise more than 5% on the back of impressive Q1FY27 performance. The stock saw an average trading volume of 23.6 lakh units against the 30-day average volume of 6.58 lakh units.
The consolidated top line was up 54% to ₹3,168 crore driven by a 57% growth in wires and cables business. The EBITDA more than doubled to ₹285 crore, posting a growth of 99%. Margins improved 200 basis points to reach 9%.
PAT rose 129% to ₹205 crore. The wires and cables division posted a PBT of ₹285 crore while the FMEG business made it to break-even.
Godfrey Phillips Shares Fall 7.8% After Profit Decline
Godfrey Phillips India, which manufactures cigarettes and tobacco products, declined 7.8% after weak Q1FY27 performance.
The company reported a 44% year-on-year decline in net profit to ₹198 crore, while revenue dropped 18.8% to ₹1,206 crore. Higher excise duty expenses impacted profitability, leading to negative investor sentiment.
Gravita India and DMart Witness Selling Pressure
Gravita India is a recycling company operating in lead, aluminum, plastic, and other metals. Gravita India fell 6.92% on July 28 due to selling activity in absence of any corporate event for the stock.
Avenue Supermarts (DMart) is a nationwide supermarket chain. Avenue Supermarts fell 6.20% due to profit booking and market-selling without any news on the company front.
