Summary:

Reliance Industries shares surged 11.64% on November 2, 2026, following record Q2FY27 profit and falling crude oil prices. The Sensex gained 1,233 points, while the market rally added ₹7.96 lakh crore to investor wealth.

Reliance Industries Limited (NSE: RELIANCE, BSE: 500325) soared 11.64% on Monday, November 2, 2026, its biggest single-day gain since April 2020. Strong Q2FY27 earnings and a sharp decline in crude oil prices supported the rally, helping the Sensex cross the 75,000-mark and adding ₹7.96 lakh crore to investors’ wealth.

Reliance shares jump 11.64%, add ₹1.83 lakh crore to m-cap

Reliance Industries stock gained ₹135.45 to close at ₹1,299 on the BSE compared to its previous close of ₹1,163.55.

The stock was up 11.64% on the day, its best single-day performance in more than six years. It closed at ₹1,300, up 11.60% at NSE.

The stock surge added around ₹ 1.83 lakh crore to the company’s market capitalisation, pushing it to ₹ 17.58 lakh crore.

Reliance also added significantly to benchmark indices, contributing about 762 points to the Sensex and 198 points to the Nifty 50.

Why Reliance Share Price Surged Nearly 12%?

The sharp rise came after Reliance announced its Q2FY27 financial results on October 30, 2026.

The company reported the highest-ever quarterly consolidated profit of ₹29,550 crore, up 33.8% YoY from ₹22,092 crore in Q2FY26.

The company’s gross revenue grew 27.8% year-on-year to ₹3,62,268 crore and EBITDA grew 23.9% to ₹62,409 crore.

Financial parametersQ2FY27YoY growth
Revenue₹3,62,268 crore+27.8%
EBITDA₹62,409 crore+23.9%
Consolidated PAT29,550 crore+33.8%
EBITDA margin17.2%-60 bps

A large contributor was the oil-to-chemicals (O2C) business. Segment EBITDA increased 67.9% YoY to ₹25,203 crore supported by higher refining and petrochemical margins.

Digital services also did well, with EBITDA growing 17.7% YoY to ₹22,223 crore. These improvements more than compensated for weaker profitability in the retail business.

Sensex Gains 1,233 Points as Crude Oil Prices Drop

The rally spilt over to the wider market.

The BSE Sensex gained 1,233.25 points, or 1.66 per cent, to end at 75,692.78. The NSE Nifty 50 climbed 387.70 points, or 1.68%, to 23,440.80.

Both indices registered their third straight session of gains, up more than 3% in the period.

A fall of about $10 per barrel in crude oil prices helped support market sentiment. Brent crude, which earlier hit about $118 a barrel, slipped to $109 a barrel.

India is a big oil importer, and so lower crude prices matter for the country. A steady decline can help cut import costs and ease pressure on inflation and the rupee.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth ₹3,114.68 crore on November 2, whereas domestic institutional investors (DIIs) offloaded shares worth ₹392.20 crore.

Investor wealth increased by ₹7.96 lakh crore due to the market rally.

Buying over Reliance

Top Sensex gainers were Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement, SBI and NTPC. Good gains were also seen in oil & gas, metals and consumer durables.

The aggregate market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies increased by about ₹7.96 lakh crore to ₹482.3 lakh crore.

But even after Monday’s rally, Reliance shares stayed below the 52-week high of ₹1,611.20.

Further movement in the market will be dictated by crude oil prices, foreign institutional flows, corporate earnings and global developments. Reliance’s next quarterly numbers will also show if the growth in refining and digital services can sustain the improved profitability.
