Summary:
L&T Technology Services shares rallied after Q2FY27 revenue rose 12.1% year-on-year and EBIT margin improved to 16.3%. Net profit included a ₹165 crore one-time gain from the SWC business sale, while AI-linked large deals exceeded $200 million.
L&T Technology Services shares jumped as much as 15% on October 21, 2026, following the company’s Q2FY27 earnings announcement. The L&T Technology Services share price reached approximately ₹4,143 on the NSE, compared with the previous close near ₹3,609.80.
The advance was an intraday move rather than a guaranteed closing gain. The L&T Technology Services stock attracted attention after reporting higher revenue, better operating margins and large deal wins tied partly to artificial intelligence.
L&T Technology Services Q2 Results 2026
The company reported revenue of ₹3,040.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, growing 12.1% YoY and 3.4% QoQ. Dollar revenue reached $317mn. On a constant-currency basis, revenue increased 4.8% YoY and 2.7% sequentially.
Net profit rose 66.8% YoY to ₹548.2 crore and increased 53.7% QoQ. However, the profit figure included a one-time gain of ₹165 crore from the sale of its SWC business. Removing that item gives a more restrained view of underlying profit growth.
EBIT margin improved by 60 basis points QoQ to 16.3%, reflecting the operating performance reported for the quarter. The company also declared an interim dividend of ₹20 per share, with October 27 set as the record date.
AI Deals and Engineering Services Demand
LTTS reported large-deal total contract value above $200mn in Q2FY27. Artificial intelligence-related agreements accounted for more than half of that value. The total included one $75mn deal, a deal above $30mn, one $25mn deal, and six contracts each above $10mn.
The company operates across mobility, sustainability, and technology engineering services. Its work covers industrial products, transportation systems, medical devices, manufacturing processes and connected technology. Growth in the sustainability business was part of the quarterly performance.
Large agreements improve the potential pipeline, but total contract value is not revenue recognised immediately. Delivery schedules, project staffing and profitability determine how booked business moves into reported income over later quarters.
What the Share Rally Means for the Sector
The strong one-day response puts attention on engineering research and development services, an area where client spending can depend on industrial investment and product cycles. The L&T Technology Services share price may also react to margin stability and actual conversion of contract wins, not simply their announced value.
AI-related product engineering is distinct from routine IT maintenance: projects may include factory automation, embedded systems and connected equipment. Clients can nevertheless defer spending when global demand weakens, leading to variations in quarterly growth.
