Summary:

Jio Platforms is delaying mobile tariff hikes while focusing on digital services, higher customer spending and international partnerships. In Q2FY27, revenue increased 11.4% and net profit rose 13.7%, supported by subscriber additions, higher ARPU and growing data consumption.

Jio Platforms (NSE: JPL) said it has no plans to raise mobile tariffs anytime soon, and is instead focusing on digital services and international expansion. The company, which made its stock-market debut on October 28, 2026, is looking at partnerships with 10-15 global players and trying to generate more revenue from its existing customers.

Why Jio Is Delaying Mobile Tariff Hikes?

Jio has decided not to rely only on mobile tariff hikes to boost its average revenue per user (ARPU).

The company hopes to drive revenue through digital services, deeper client engagement and more consumption of its existing products.

The industry has been expecting a revision of the tariff for more than a year now, especially as telecom operators look for better returns on their investments in 5G infrastructure.

Jio’s last broad-based tariff increase was more than two years ago. The company has not provided a specific timeline, however, the market still anticipates another rise of around 15% in FY27.

Its strategy is to organically grow customer spend before another major price revision.

Jio eyes tie-ups with 10-15 international companies

Jio is looking to take its technology business outside India with asset-light international model.

Instead of spending a lot on overseas telecom infrastructure, the company intends to provide technology platforms and managed services to overseas partners.

Overseas, it may supply 5G network technology, fixed wireless access, home broadband solutions and feature-phone operating systems.

The company is looking at 10-15 international partnerships that could provide meaningful scale across developed and emerging markets.

However, overseas business is still in its infancy and does not have an established customer base or revenue contribution.

Why Jio Platforms Shares Jumped on Q2 Results

Shares of Jio Platforms rose as much as 3.05% to an intraday high of ₹1,475 on November 2, compared to the previous close of ₹1,431.30.

The stock traded at ₹1,441.80, up 0.73% in the morning session with a volume of around 74.09 lakh shares around 11:12 AM.
