Jio Platforms IPO 2026: Issue Size, Dates, Price Band and Key Details
Share

Summary:

Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 crore IPO was subscribed 3.01 times by 5:30 pm on October 21, 2026. Qualified institutional buyers led demand at 9.02 times, while non-institutional investors subscribed 1.59 times and retail investors 0.69 times.

Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 crore IPO drew bids for more than three times the shares available to public investors on October 21, 2026, its first subscription day. Institutional demand was far ahead of retail participation, making the category-wise breakup as important as the overall figure.

Day-One Subscription Crosses Three Times

At 5:30 pm IST, an exchange-data compilation showed overall subscription of 3.01x. Investors had bid for approximately 59.55 crore shares against about 19.75 crore shares available in the public bidding book, excluding the earlier anchor allocation. Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) accounted for most of the demand.

QIB subscription stood at 9.02x, compared with 1.59x for non-institutional investors (NIIs) and 0.69x for retail investors. The reserved portions for eligible Reliance shareholders and employees were subscribed 1.39x and 1.30x, respectively.

A subscription of 3.01x means bids totalled just over three times the shares counted in the public offer. It does not mean each investor will receive shares, nor does it establish the price at which Jio will trade after listing.

Subscriber Base and Earnings Provide Context

Jio’s business extends from mobile connectivity to home broadband, enterprise networking, cloud products and AI services. As of June 30, 2026, Reliance Jio Infocomm had 53.33 crore customers, including 28.49 crore 5G users. JioFiber and JioAirFiber together served 2.86 crore subscribers. The group reported FY26 revenue from operations of ₹1,46,885.3 crore and profit after tax of ₹30,049.1 crore. In Q1FY27, revenue was ₹39,172.9 crore and profit after tax ₹7,764.1 crore. Average revenue per user increased to ₹215.6 from ₹208.8 a year earlier.

Institutional bidding led the opening day, but retail demand remained below full subscription at the reported cut-off. Investors will be watching the final category-wise totals, allotment process and subsequent listing. A strong bid book demonstrates demand for shares; sustained returns will depend on earnings, pricing, and business execution after the Jio Platforms IPO.
