Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL) now operates as a single food and beverage unit of the Tata Group after changing its business model from tea and coffee and salt into an integrated FMCG player with packaged food and beverage products for various consumption times during the last five years. The Company operates a range of branded products and offerings in tea, coffee, water, RTD beverages, food staples, breakfast cereals, snacks, mini meals, cooking aids, condiments and herbal supplements. The Company operates branded businesses in India and Europe and the US and Canada and Australia while its non-branded plantation operations are based in India and it extracts tea and coffee in India, Vietnam and the US. TCPL serves major markets in India, USA, UK and Europe, Canada, Australia, the Middle East and South Africa with its portfolio of Tata Tea, Tetley, teapigs, Organic India, Tata Salt, Tata Sampann, Tata Soulfull and more. The company had ten standalone direct subsidiaries as of March 31, 2025. The company achieved the #2 position in the UK branded tea market during the year 2022 following the fast transformation into multiple categories since 2020 (after acquiring salt and food operations) .

  • The acquisition of Organic India Private Limited was completed in two parts where 99.99% was acquired on April 16, 2024 and the remaining portion was acquired on December 13, 2024, thus adding organic teas, infusions, herbal supplements and packaged foods. TCPL displayed new packaging designs combined with sustainability elements for Tata LYFE + Alkaline water and Tata Copper+ PET bottles to achieve a 30% reduction in PET usage for the latter.

 

  • NIFTEM and TDU and Banaras Hindu University were among the notable MoUs that were signed for advancing food processing research and implementing Ayurveda in modern biological systems.
