The Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) operates as a Government company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways during its 75th Annual Report period (2024–2025). The Company’s registered office is located at Shipping House, 245 Madame Cama Road, Mumbai – 400021. As of March 31, 2025, the President of India holds 63.75% equity share capital.
SCI operates four major business segments: Liner and Passenger Services, Bulk Carrier & Tanker Operations, and Technical & Offshore Services. Within Tankers, the company manages crude, product, and gas carriers, while Technical & Offshore Services include group-owned offshore vessels, third-party vessel management, and consultancy.
While most operations are India-focused, SCI also has joint ventures in LNG shipping and associate companies in Malta and Singapore, reflecting its extended maritime footprint. The Company runs two wholly-owned subsidiaries engaged in inland/coastal shipping and vessel leasing/financing, along with four joint ventures.
In FY 2024–25, SCI achieved two notable milestones: celebrating its 75th reporting year and recording its highest standalone profit after tax in fifteen years. Its long-term and short-term credit ratings were reaffirmed at ACUITE AA+ and ACUITE A1+ respectively, on October 18, 2024.

SCI’s operations are primarily India-focused. International exposure comes via LNG joint ventures and associate companies in Malta and Singapore.
