Indowind Energy Limited is a public limited company incorporated on July 19, 1995. It was converted into a deemed public company on September 30, 1997 and became a listed entity on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India on September 14, 2007. The company develops, owns, operates and maintains wind power generation assets, and is engaged in the generation and distribution of renewable energy with a focus on wind projects.

 

Indowind’s footprint spans the high-wind states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. As on the latest year, it operates 125 windmills with a combined capacity of 47.995 MW—30.90 MW in Tamil Nadu and 17.095 MW in Karnataka. Power is sold under the group captive scheme, via third-party sales to corporates, and to the State Electricity Board BESCOM under Power Purchase Agreements. The company began its journey in 1995 with its first 225 KW windmill in Tamil Nadu and has grown by acquiring and operating brownfield windmills as well as developing greenfield projects.
