The Nifty Infra index consists of the top 30 stocks of infrastructure sector which includes companies belonging to Telecom, Power, Port, Air, Roads, Railways, shipping and other Utility Services providers. Each stock has a different weightage in the Infra index, thus having a varied impact. This is a sectoral index with all stocks allowing derivatives trading through futures and options contracts with monthly expiry. The stock weightages are decided based on their market capitalisation. Stocks from Oil, Gas, & Consumable Fuels, Telecommunication and Power companies make up a majority of the index. Reliance Insdustries Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd, and Larsen & Toubro Ltd hold the highest weightage in the index.
