Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC), incorporated in 1976, is a diversified producer of fertilizers and industrial chemicals headquartered at Narmadanagar, District Bharuch, Gujarat . The Company operates two plants and five offices in India, serving customers across 27 States and exporting to 86 countries; exports contributed 0.46% of turnover in the latest year. Its chemical portfolio includes Methanol, Formic Acid, Acetic Acid, Toluene Di‑Isocyanate (TDI), Technical Grade Urea (TGU), nitric acids, Ethyl Acetate, Aniline and Ammonium Nitrate. GNFC is the only producer of Acetic Acid and Formic Acid in India, runs the largest single‑stream Aniline plant in India, and is the only manufacturer of TDI in Southeast Asia and the Indian Sub‑Continent. – Initiated an Ammonia Plant revamp to increase capacity by 50,000 MT per annum; agreement signed with Topsoe, Denmark for Basic Engineering Package and proprietary equipment; completion targeted for the second quarter of FY 2027-28 .
– Board approved implementation of a coal‑based Captive Co‑Generation Power Plant at Dahej to address fuel price volatility and meet captive requirements .
– ISO certifications remain in force: Bharuch Complex – ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 valid up to September 03, 2025; ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 valid up to May 07, 2027 and June 13, 2027 respectively; Dahej Complex – ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 50001:2018 valid up to December 17, 2025. Re‑certification audit in March 2025 recommended continuity of certification for the next three years .
– Operational highlights: multiple plants achieved over 100% capacity utilisation during FY 2024-25, including Urea at 138.07% and Acetic Acid at 165.67%. TDI‑II Dahej recorded 208 on‑stream days at 59.70% utilisation due to extended shutdowns and power failures .
– Industrial products: highest ever annual sales achieved in Technical Grade Urea and Formic Acid; within industrial products turnover, TGU, TDI and AN Melt contributed 20%, 19% and 15%, respectively in FY 2024-25 .
