GKB Ophthalmics Ltd., incorporated in 1981, is a Goa-based manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses. The company operates from its registered office at Tivim Industrial Estate, Mapusa, Goa. Over more than four decades, GKB has built a strong presence in lens production, serving both domestic and international markets.

The company’s product portfolio covers ophthalmic lenses in glass and plastic, including moulds used in the manufacture of plastic lenses. It caters to varied requirements of global customers by offering advanced lens development and coating technologies.

Latest Updates on GKB Ophthalmics Ltd

In FY 2024-25, several developments marked the company’s progress:

• The company revised and obtained shareholder approval for Material Related Party Transactions with subsidiaries and associates, particularly Lensco and GSV Ophthalmics, covering significant value of lens trading and services for FY 2025-26 and FY 2026-27.

• Appointment of CS Girija G. Nagvekar as Secretarial Auditor for a term of five years (FY 2025-26 to FY 2029-30).

• Approval for holding office of profit in subsidiary Lensco by Mr. Gaurav Gupta, CEO, with a revised remuneration of USD 7,400 per month.

The Company has invested from its internal fund, in two new machines from Bangalore, which is an advanced technology for lens development and coating. The Company further requires funds to invest in additional machinery to secure substantial export orders from international markets, through its strong subsidiaries in the US and Sharjah, UAE. To fulfill these orders and ensure timely delivery, it needs to create additional space and infrastructure in the factory building at Unit II and increase production capacity. Accordingly, the Company has proposed a Term Loan of Rs. 7.50 crore from the Bank.
