About Genus Power Infrastructures Limited

Genus Power Infrastructures Limited (Genus), established in 1992, is one of India’s leading providers of end-to-end smart metering solutions and a top Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP). The company has evolved from being a pioneering meter manufacturer into a fully integrated smart metering and communication solutions provider, encompassing hardware, software, and field services. Its solutions span smart meters, communication systems, and a proprietary software stack that includes Head-End System (HES), Meter Data Management System (MDMS), mobile apps, and workforce management tools for electricity, water, and gas utilities.

The company’s R&D centre is recognised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and its laboratories are accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), underscoring its strong technological foundation.

Genus operates six manufacturing facilities — two in Jaipur (Sitapura and Ramchandrapura), two in Haridwar, and two in Guwahati — collectively spanning around 8,25,000 sq. ft of integrated production space. On the software front, its Urja+ MDMS platform and in-house HES serve as the data backbone for large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) deployments, enabling seamless validation, storage, and integration of meter data into billing and operations. Complementing these are a consumer app, a workforce management app, and Prepaid Vending Software designed for international markets. The company now serves one in every five Indian households through its AMI and smart metering deployments.

The company’s comprehensive product and solutions suite covers the entire lifecycle — from anti-tamper single- and three-phase smart meters to CT-operated LT/HT meters, net meters, communication modules (GSM/GPRS/NB-IoT/LoRa), AMI software (HES, MDMS, analytics dashboards, prepaid vending), and Facility Management and Smart Streetlight Management Systems. It also acts as an OEM supplier to other AMISPs and caters to non-utility sub-metering and prepaid applications.

Internationally, Genus serves clients across SAARC, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and emerging Pacific-region markets, with exports to seven countries in FY 2024–25 — Burundi, Malaysia, Nigeria, Australia, Singapore, Nepal, and the USA. The Group has 12 subsidiaries and four associates, as disclosed in the consolidated financial statements for FY 2024–25.

Key achievements include the company’s transition to an AMISP model, the development of its proprietary HES/MDMS software stack, and the scale-up of smart meter manufacturing capacity, surpassing 10 million units manufactured and 9.40 million units sold in FY 2024–25 — a testament to its execution strength and market leadership.
