It began in 1983 as “Blue Dart Courier Services,” became a private limited company on April 5, 1991, and adopted its current name on June 17, 1994. The company offers secure, time‑bound delivery across more than 56,400 locations in India, supported by 2,284 facilities and an extensive fleet that includes six Boeing 757‑200 and two Boeing 737 freighter aircraft, over 12,000 vehicles, and a growing base of 549 electric vehicles . As part of DHL Group’s DHL eCommerce Solutions division, Blue Dart taps a global network spanning over 220 countries and territories, enabling end‑to‑end logistics solutions for domestic and international needs.

Blue Dart’s portfolio covers air express, freight forwarding, supply chain management, customs clearance, and time‑critical deliveries. Productized domestic offerings include time‑definite services (Domestic Priority 1030, Domestic Priority 1200, Air Package Express (Apex) 1200), day‑definite solutions (Domestic Priority, Apex, Surface B2B, eCom Air, eCom Surface, eCom Surface Lite), and Temperature Controlled Logistics (TCL). The company also provides 24×7 shipment tracking, dynamic routing, API integrations, contact‑less delivery, and other digital tools designed to raise speed, visibility, and customer convenience.

For FY 2024–25, it handled over 3,766.92 lakh domestic shipments and 5.72 lakh international shipments, with total weight exceeding 13,39,800 tonnes .
