Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Limited (ASAL) was incorporated on March 13, 1990, originally as JBM Tools Limited, and adopted its current name on August 1, 2003. It is a listed subsidiary of Tata AutoComp Systems Limited, placing it within the Tata Group’s automotive ecosystem and listed on NSE and BSE. The Company designs, develops, and manufactures precision sheet metal components, welded assemblies and modules for the automotive industry, including Body-in-White structural and skin panels, fuel tanks, rear twist beams, oil sumps, and suspension components, with capabilities extending from prototyping to die development and full-scale production.

 

ASAL serves leading OEMs across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, 2/3 wheelers and off-road equipment. Key customers include Tata Motors Limited (Passenger Vehicle, Commercial Vehicle and Electric Mobility divisions/subsidiaries), FIAT India Automobiles Private Limited, Ashok Leyland Limited, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company Limited and JCB Heavy Products Limited. The Company operates five manufacturing facilities in India—Chakan I and II (Pune, Maharashtra), Pantnagar (Uttarakhand), Sanand (Gujarat) and Jamshedpur (Jharkhand). During the financial year 2023-24, ASAL successfully commenced operations at two new plants in Sanand and Jamshedpur, marking a key recent expansion milestone.

 

ASAL primarily operates in India, with exports forming a minimal share of overall turnover. The Company has no subsidiaries, associates or joint ventures during the year ended March 31, 2025.
