Ashok Leyland Sales Rise 30% on Strong Commercial Vehicle Demand
Ashok Leyland reported a 30% year-on-year increase in total sales to 19,590 units in July 2026 compared with the previous year.
Domestic sales grew 33% to 17,980 units. Medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales increased 29% to 12,270 units, while light commercial vehicle sales climbed 32% to 7,320 units.
The growth reflects sustained demand in the commercial vehicle segment, supported by infrastructure activity and improving freight movement.
Bajaj Auto Sales Jump 30% Led by Exports and Two-Wheelers
Bajaj Auto recorded a 30% year-on-year rise in total sales to 4.7 lakh units in July 2026.
Two-wheeler sales increased 31% to 3.9 lakh units, while commercial vehicle sales grew 23% to 85,958 units. Domestic sales rose 20% to 2.2 lakh units, whereas exports witnessed stronger momentum, increasing 39% to 2.5 lakh units.
The strong export performance and continued demand for motorcycles supported overall volume growth.
TVS Motor Sales Surge 38% as Electric Vehicle Sales Accelerate
TVS Motor Company reported a 38% increase in total sales to 629,675 units in July 2026 from 456,350 units a year earlier.
Total two-wheeler sales increased 38% to 603,138 units. Domestic two-wheeler sales jumped 42% to 437,394 units compared with 308,720 units in July 2025.
Electric two-wheeler sales witnessed a sharp rise of 158% to 60,934 units from 23,605 units. International business grew 29% to 184,264 units, while three-wheeler sales increased 51% to 26,537 units.
Maruti Suzuki Records 34% Growth, SUV Demand Remains Strong
Maruti Suzuki India reported total wholesales of 241,421 units in July 2026, registering 34% year-on-year growth.
Domestic sales stood at 200,123 units, rising 42%. Passenger car sales increased 42% to 103,456 units, while utility vehicle sales surged 49% to 78,851 units.
Sales to Toyota Kirloskar Motor stood at 11,242 units, up 37%, while exports declined 5% to 30,056 units.
Hyundai Motor India Posts Highest-Ever Monthly Sales
Hyundai Motor India achieved its highest-ever monthly sales since inception with total sales of 75,360 units in July 2026, up 25.4% year-on-year.
Domestic sales increased 23.3% to 54,210 units, while exports rose 31.4% to 21,150 units. The company also recorded its highest monthly export sales in over 100 months.
The Hyundai Creta achieved its highest monthly sales in CY26 with 18,088 units.
Tata Motors PV Sales Jump 59% Despite Production Disruptions
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles recorded domestic and international sales of 63,760 units in July 2026 compared with 40,175 units a year ago, marking a 59% growth.
The company crossed 15,000 electric vehicle wholesales in a month for the first time and reported record-high Vahan registrations. The Punch achieved its highest-ever monthly sales.
Despite temporary production disruptions at the Sanand facility due to heavy rainfall and flooding, Tata Motors delivered strong growth.
Mahindra, Toyota and Kia Report Positive Growth
Mahindra & Mahindra reported overall auto sales of 103,860 units, including exports, rising 26% year-on-year.
Utility vehicle sales stood at 60,048 units in the domestic market, growing 20%. Overall SUV sales including exports reached 60,887 units. Commercial vehicle sales increased 23% to 25,204 units.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported July wholesales of 32,516 units, including domestic sales of 30,516 units, up 5% year-on-year.
Kia India recorded wholesales of 28,200 units, registering 27.4% year-on-year growth.
Outlook for Auto Sector
The July numbers indicate broad-based recovery across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and two-wheelers. Rising EV adoption, improving exports and strong SUV demand remain key growth drivers. However, companies will continue to monitor monsoon trends, commodity costs and demand sustainability in the coming quarters.
