Tata Steel announces ₹33,873 crore expansion

Tata Steel is in the news owing to its 11.6% rise in consolidated net profit from ₹2,076 crore during the previous year to ₹2,318.5 crore for the quarter ended June. Its revenue rose by 14.3% to ₹60,794.3 crore while recording an exception loss of ₹345.5 crore.

The company has now decided to invest a huge amount of ₹33,873 crore to increase its steel manufacturing capacity by 4.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

For instance, the company Astra Microwave Products received a contract worth ₹2,205.23 crores from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for delivering 122 Advanced Airborne Active Array Units (AAAUs) and 121 interface frames within the scope of the project titled ‘Uttam Radar’.
