Summary:
Wipro has launched a new Applied AI Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru focused on Anthropic’s Claude models. The initiative aims to help enterprises accelerate AI adoption through industry-specific solutions and AI-powered platforms. As part of its broader AI strategy, Wipro also plans to certify 10,000 delivery experts in Claude-based technologies over the next 18 months.
Wipro Limited has introduced its latest Applied AI Center of Excellence (CoE), which is based on the Claude Models from Anthropic. It represents another important milestone in Wipro’s strategy aimed at accelerating AI adoption in the enterprise. The CoE has been launched at the innovation center of Wipro in Bengaluru and will work within Wipro’s recently formed AI-Native Business & Platforms Unit.
The move highlights Wipro’s status as an AI-driven company, specializing in technology services and consulting solutions that allow enterprises to utilize artificial intelligence and achieve business results.
Integrating Claude Models Across Wipro Intelligence™
The Applied AI CoE will serve to bolster Wipro's capability to implement and scale up the use of AI solutions based on Anthropic's Claude model. This has already been incorporated into the Wipro Intelligence™ suite, which includes delivery frameworks, functional and industry-focused platforms.
This will serve to enable organizations to effectively incorporate AI into their everyday business operations by improving efficiency, decision-making, and overall business performance. Wipro plans to make effective use of its proven methodologies and execution models for successful deployment of AI.
Building a Global Workforce of AI Specialists
One such pillar that underpins the initiative includes the focus by Wipro on developing talent around this new initiative. The company has been nurturing a cadre of globally available Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) skilled in Claude models. This means they have extensive experience in using and understanding these models and applying them to enterprise use cases.
These engineers will be operating out of the client’s environment and have knowledge of both the process and technology ecosystem in which they will be deploying AI capabilities.
Wipro described this approach as a “proof over promise” strategy, emphasizing real-world business impact rather than theoretical AI adoption.
Expanding AI Solutions Across Industries
The Applied AI CoE would also serve as the center of excellence for developing platforms that use AI natively along with industry-specific solutions. The starting sectors for such platforms include Mortgage, Healthcare, Airlines, Manufacturing, and Consumer sectors.
By integrating Claude models into their platforms, Wipro aims to innovate with their clients in their actual business environments and create AI-based solutions that meet the needs of each industry. In addition to creating AI solutions for its clients, Wipro is also implementing AI within its internal operations, which include the Finance, Human Resource, and Sales functions.
Certification Target of 10,000 Delivery Experts
The most ambitious component of the project will be Wipro’s plan to certify 10,000 Front-Line Delivery Experts on Claude-based solutions within the next 18 months.
By launching the certification program, the company plans to develop an army of specialists who can design, implement, and manage AI-based systems in the environment of an enterprise. This will help speed up the implementation of enterprise AI by leveraging the consulting approach and AI power.
