Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) is a public limited company incorporated in 1973, with its registered office and manufacturing works located at P.O. Ranoli – 391 350, District Vadodara, Gujarat, India. The Company’s equity shares are listed on both BSE and NSE. GACL is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of bulk chemicals and is recognised as one of India’s leading producers of Caustic Soda Lye, as noted in its latest Annual Report.

 

The Company’s diversified product portfolio includes Caustic Soda (Lye, Flakes, Prills), Caustic Potash (Lye & Flakes), Chloromethanes (including Methylene Chloride and Carbon Tetra Chloride), Liquid Chlorine, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Phosphoric Acid (Food Grade and Technical), Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC), Aluminium Chloride, Sodium Chlorate, Potassium Carbonate, Hydrazine Hydrate, Hydrogen gas (compressed), and Chlorotoluene.

 

The Company’s plants are integrated, enabling value-added product development, where outputs from one process serve as inputs for another, optimising efficiency and cost.

 

GACL serves customers across India and also exports selected products. During FY 2024–25, it executed bulk exports of Caustic Soda Lye and exported Methylene Chloride to over 20 countries.

 

The Company operates from multiple manufacturing sites, including:

  • Baroda Complex and Coelho Complex at Ranoli (Vadodara)
  • Dahej Complex-1 and Dahej Complex-2 in Bharuch district, Gujarat

GACL does not have any subsidiaries; however, the consolidated financial statements include its Joint Venture Company (GACL–NALCO Alkalies & Chemicals Pvt. Ltd.) for the year ended March 31, 2025.
