GMR Power and Urban Infra Limited (GPUIL) is a public limited company incorporated in 2019. It operates across Energy, Roads, Smart Meter Infrastructure and Urban Infrastructure in India, anchored by large thermal assets at Kamalanga and Warora alongside projects in transportation and urban infrastructure domains. The Group’s activities include power generation (coal-based thermal, hydropower, solar and wind), development and operation of highways, Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) for highways and railways, development of Special Investment Region (SIR), and installation of smart meters. GPUIL’s footprint spans India and select international locations.
In India, it operates (by itself and through subsidiaries, JVs and associates) across Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh; internationally, it has presence in Nepal, Indonesia and Dubai. As on March 31, 2025, the Company had 71 subsidiary companies (apart from associates and joint ventures). Operationally, the Group had 13 plants and 39 offices in India, and 3 international offices during the year. Key milestones in the year included the conversion of USD 275 million FCCBs into 11,12,41,666 equity shares on July 10, 2024, and recognition of an exceptional gain following waiver of accrued interest by the FCCB holders.
Investments and Structure Changes: GPUIL acquired 26% in Portus Ventures Private Limited during the year; GEL acquired an additional 50% in GTOMPL on March 27, 2025. During FY 2024–25, GMR Operations and Maintenance Private Limited changed status from associate to subsidiary; NREPL and GMR Infrastructure (UK) Ltd ceased to be subsidiaries.

GPUIL focuses on Energy generation, Roads, EPC and Smart Meter Infrastructure, including power from coal, hydro, solar and wind, highway development/operation, EPC for highways and railways, SIR development, and smart meter installation.
