Cosmo First Limited, originally established as Cosmo Films in 1981, pioneered the introduction of BOPP films in India and has since evolved into a diversified, multi-vertical enterprise spanning flexible packaging, specialty chemicals, rigid packaging, consumer films and pet care. The Company is the world’s largest producer of thermal lamination films, a leading global supplier of industrial application films, and the second-largest global player in specialty label films. Its flagship portfolio includes BOPP, BOPET and CPP films, metallised films and synthetic paper catering to packaging, lamination and labelling needs across food, beverages, personal care, FMCG and pharmaceutical sectors.
Cosmo First operates three manufacturing facilities in India—Waluj and Shendra (Aurangabad, Maharashtra) and Karjan (Vadodara, Gujarat)—and supports its global customer base through offices in seven countries. Key milestones in Cosmo First’s journey include the commissioning of India’s first BOPP line in 1981; international expansion with the Korea plant in 2011; commissioning of the 10th BOPP line in 2017; the launch of Zigly in 2021; the formation of Cosmo Speciality Chemicals in 2022; diversification into rigid packaging and rebranding to Cosmo First Limited in 2023; and expansion of CPP capacity in March 2025. A world’s largest BOPP line is expected to commence operations in Q1 FY26. As on March 31, 2025, the Company had 10 subsidiaries, including step-down subsidiaries.

Capacity expansion: A new CPP line with a capacity of 22,000 MT per annum commenced operations in March 2025. A new BOPP line with a capacity of 81,200 MT per annum, designed to be among the world’s most cost-efficient, is scheduled to begin operations in Q1 FY26.
Manufacturing optimisation: The thermal lamination line was relocated from Korea to India, improving utilisation and cost efficiency. Commercial production from the relocated line began on March 1, 2025.
New consumer launches:
Rigid packaging certification: The Cosmo Plastech division received the FSSC 22000 food safety certification, demonstrating adherence to global manufacturing standards.
Specialty chemicals performance: Cosmo Speciality Chemicals delivered high-teens EBITDA in FY25, with a strong pipeline of new products for further scale-up.
Pet care expansion: Zigly operated 30 experience centres as of March 2025, serving over 60,000 customers, with a growing base of repeat users. The brand continued expanding toward a service-led and private-label model.
