City Union Bank Limited (CUB) is an old premier private-sector bank incorporated on October 31, 1904, with its registered office in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. It was included in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 on March 22, 1945. The bank provides a wide range of banking and financial services, including commercial banking, retail and corporate banking, treasury operations, and foreign exchange facilities   .

 

CUB’s franchise is nationwide and predominantly domestic. As of March 31, 2025, the bank operated 875 branches and 1,736 ATMs; 84% of branches are in the South, 7% in the West, 5% in the North, 3% in Central India, and 1% in the East. In FY 2024–25, the bank reported total business of ₹1,16,592 crore, with deposits at ₹63,526 crore and gross advances at ₹53,066 crore; total assets stood at ₹77,623 crore. 

 

Core products and services include demand, savings and term deposits; working capital and term loans to MSMEs and other sectors; retail lending including housing loans; treasury and forex services; and digital banking. The deposit mix at March 31, 2025 comprised demand (9.56%), savings (18.96%), and term deposits (71.48%), totaling ₹63,525.95 crore; CASA deposits were ₹18,118.88 crore (29% of total deposits). Major industrial exposures include textiles, metals, engineering, and other industries; “other textiles” constitute 5.77% of gross credit exposure within industrial exposures  .
