BDL manufactures a variety of defence systems, including Surface to Air Missiles (SAM), Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs), Air to Air Missiles (AAMs), torpedoes, and underwater weapons, contributing to India’s national security.

In FY 2024-25, BDL recorded its highest-ever export turnover of ₹1,270 crore, reflecting its growing international presence and competitive edge in the global defence market.

BDL has made significant progress in indigenizing defence equipment, achieving indigenization levels of 80%-90% for many products, supporting the Government of India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
