BEML Land Assets Limited (BLAL) is a Schedule ‘C’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, with its registered office in Bengaluru. The company was incorporated on July 15, 2021, to house identified surplus/non-core assets of BEML Limited as part of the Government’s strategic disinvestment of BEML. Under a Scheme of Arrangement approved by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, these assets were transferred to BLAL at book value with an appointed day of August 25, 2022. BLAL issued shares to BEML shareholders in a 1:1 ratio as of the record date September 9, 2022; its shares were listed on BSE and NSE and commenced trading on April 19, 2023. The President of India, through the Department of Defence Production, holds 54.03% of BLAL’s equity. The company is classified as a Schedule ‘C’ CPSE from January 22, 2024.

 

BLAL holds and manages land assets located across India—specifically in 12 cities spanning 10 states. The transfer of property titles is ongoing; the company notes that title registration was completed for properties in Bhopal on March 21, 2025, and in New Delhi on April 8, 2025, with the remaining registrations in progress. To improve visibility as a listed entity, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs approved a change in the Corporate Identity Number to begin with “L” effective April 25, 2025 (L70109KA2021GOI149486).
