Balaji Amines Limited (BAL) was incorporated on October 27, 1988, in Solapur, Maharashtra, as a public limited company to manufacture value-added speciality chemicals. Since its inception, the Company has emerged as a pioneer in aliphatic amines and speciality fine chemicals, serving industries such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, paints, dyes, oil and gas, and electric vehicles.
The Company began commercial production of Methylamines in 1989, expanded into Ethylamines in 1990, and over the decades has introduced a broad range of speciality chemicals like Morpholine, Acetonitrile, Gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL), and Dimethylformamide (DMF). Today, it is the largest manufacturer of aliphatic amines and methylamines in India, and the only indigenous developer of technology for amines production.Its operations are spread across four manufacturing units in Solapur and Hyderabad, supported by a newly commissioned 8 MW DC solar plant, ensuring sustainable power supply. BAL has a product basket of more than 40 offerings and an installed capacity of 2,86,000 MTPA, serving over 65 international clients across more than 50 countries, including the USA, Europe, and Japan.
Subsidiary Balaji Speciality Chemicals Limited (BSCL) adds to its capabilities with a focus on high-value, import-substitute products such as Ethylene Diamine (EDA) and Diethylenetriamine (DETA).
Key milestones include its listing in 2001, WHO-GMP and REACH certifications in 2014, commissioning of Unit IV facilities in 2021, and commissioning of new plants for Methylamines, N-Butylamines, and Isopropylamines in FY 2025.

Exports contributed 12.8% of total revenue, with the remainder from domestic sales.
Recognition: Received the “Rasayan Udyog Shri” Award from the Indian Chemical Society (2025), and BIS Certification for Morpholine, making BAL the only BIS-certified manufacturer in India.
