Summary:

Subros shares surged over 10% before reversing after the company announced a ₹1,225 crore HVAC assembly order from Maruti Suzuki. Spread over approximately seven years, the contract adds long-term business visibility as investors assess margins and execution.

Subros Ltd (NSE: SUBROS | BSE: 517168) witnessed heavy volatility on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, after winning an order worth ₹1,225 crore from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (NSE: MARUTI | BSE: 532500). Shares of the auto component maker initially jumped more than 10% following the announcement. However, the gains were erased during the trading session as the stock slipped into negative territory amid profit booking at higher levels.

Subros Share Price Today: Stock Rises 10% Before Falling Back

Subros shares opened higher on Wednesday and touched an intraday high of ₹678.80, representing a 10.22% increase from the previous closing price of ₹615.85.

However, the rally was short-lived.

By 11:54 am, the stock had declined to ₹572.20, down 7.09% from its previous close. At 12:23 pm, Subros shares were trading at ₹593.35, down 3.65%.

The sharp reversal highlighted significant intraday volatility despite the announcement of a major order win.

Key Highlights of the ₹1,225 Cr Maruti Suzuki Order

The contract covers HVAC assemblies for the YM3 and YU0 vehicle models.

The agreement will be executed over approximately seven years from the respective production milestones.

The order is expected to support Subros' business growth in western India and strengthen its existing relationship with Maruti Suzuki.

Why Did Subros Shares Rise and Then Fall?

The initial rally was driven by the announcement of a significant order, providing greater visibility into the company's future business.

However, the ₹1,225 crore contract value represents the estimated total business over seven years rather than revenue expected in a single financial year.

On a simple average basis, the order could generate annual revenue of approximately ₹175 crore, although actual revenue recognition will depend on vehicle demand and production schedules.

This distinction is important when assessing the potential financial contribution of the contract.

The sharp intraday reversal also indicated that the initial buying momentum was not sustained, with selling pressure emerging at higher price levels.

Subros: Business Operations and Financial Performance

Subros manufactures compressors, condensers, heat exchangers and other components used in automotive air conditioning and thermal management systems.

Its products are used in railways, refrigerated transport, passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles.

Subros reported consolidated revenue of ₹1,032.11 crore in Q1FY27, up 17.52% YoY from ₹878.25 crore.

Net profit during the quarter increased 1.69% YoY to ₹41.52 crore from ₹40.83 crore in Q1FY26.

However, EBITDA declined marginally to ₹86.99 crore from ₹87.70 crore, indicating continued pressure on operating profitability despite revenue growth.

What Is the Future Outlook for Subros Stock Price?

The new contract with Maruti Suzuki has strengthened Subros' long-term business visibility, particularly in the automotive thermal management systems segment.

However, the company's performance going forward will depend on order execution, vehicle production volumes, raw material costs and operating margins.

The significant difference between revenue growth and profit growth in Q1FY27 also highlights the importance of effective cost management.

The ₹1,225 crore order has expanded the company's business pipeline, but the immediate market reaction remained volatile, as reflected in the sharp intraday reversal. The financial impact of the contract will become clearer as revenue is recognised and future quarterly results are reported.
