Company overview

Lohia Corp is a Kanpur-based global manufacturer of machinery and equipment for technical textiles, incorporated in 2023 as a holding company for operations that date back decades. It manufactures tape extrusion lines, circular looms, winders, and related machines for producing polypropylene and HDPE woven fabric and sacks.

About the company

The company operates from Panki Industrial Estate, Kanpur. As of March 31, 2026, it had 2,010 permanent employees, international offices in Brazil, Russia, Thailand, the UAE, and the USA, warehouses in India, the USA, and the UAE, and stockists in eight countries. It holds 71 patents in India and 56 outside India and owns 54 trademarks. Promoters are Raj Kumar Lohia, Gaurav Lohia, and Amit Kumar Lohia.

Business model

Revenue comes from selling tape extrusion lines, circular looms, winders, coating and lamination machines, printing and conversion machines, and related spare parts to manufacturers of woven PP and HDPE fabric. Products serve the cement, fertiliser, food grain, chemical, and polymer packaging industries as well as tarpaulins, geotextiles, carpet backing, ropes, and twines. After-sales spare parts provide recurring revenue that grows with the installed machine base.

Revenue up 25%, PAT up 64%, borrowings falling. All metrics moved in the right direction simultaneously in FY26.

Competitive strengths

  • Market leader in India with a 40.7% domestic market share in FY25 and a 15.4% global market share by value in 2024
  • 71 domestic and 56 international patents points to a genuine IP rather than commodity manufacturing
  • Order book worth ₹1,358.52 crore as of March 31, 2026
  • Debt-to-equity of 0.23 with declining borrowings
  • After-sales spare parts revenue grows with the installed machine base over time
  • International presence across five countries

Factors that may impact IPO listing performance

Market conditions

The broader market was broadly flat on listing day. Lohia Corp listed alongside Indo-MIM on July 30, and the latter's 45% premium listing drew more investor attention and capital that day.

Subscription demand

The issue was subscribed 7.25 times overall, with QIBs at 9.11 times. Solid institutional demand, but the 10% retail quota and 100% OFS structure limited the enthusiasm that typically drives stronger listing premiums. Analyst consensus was that the issue appeared fully priced at 23.21x P/E, with most brokers recommending it for medium to long-term holding rather than listing gains.

Industry outlook

Woven raffia machinery for packaging is a durable demand segment with structural growth tied to FMCG, agriculture, and industrial packaging. The global market leader structure and IP depth give Lohia Corp a defensible position, but the niche limits the addressable market in ways that restrict valuation expansion.

Should you hold or sell after listing?

Short-term listing gain strategy

The listing at ₹460 represented a 7.09% gain over the issue price. For retail investors who received an allotment through the 10% quota, this was a modest but positive outcome. Whether to exit at open or hold depended on how the stock traded through the day. The IPO was described by analysts as fully priced, which limits near-term upside from current levels.

Long-term investment perspective

The fundamentals are genuinely strong: declining debt, improving margins, global market leadership in a niche, and a growing spare parts recurring revenue stream. At the listing price of ₹460, P/E moves slightly above the issue price multiple of 23.21x. For investors with a 2- to 3-year horizon who understand the woven raffia machinery business, the ROE of 36.80% and ROCE of 40.92% support a longer-term case.

Key risks

  • 100% OFS means promoters monetised at ₹425. Post-listing growth depends entirely on business performance
  • Anchor lock-in ends August 27 for 50% of anchor shares and October 26 for the rest. Supply from anchor unlocking is worth watching
  • 10% retail quota was unusually low, concentrating the stock in institutional hands
  • Revenue is concentrated in woven raffia machinery. Any shift in packaging material trends would affect demand directly
