On Tuesday, November 11, Indian stock markets closed higher, extending the previous day's gains. The benchmark indices were supported by gains in financial stocks such as HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.

At the close, the Nifty 50 recovered from about 245 points from the day's low and ended up by 120.60 points or 0.47% at 25,694.95, while the Sensex gained 335.97 points or 0.40% to close at 83,871.32. Both benchmark indices are now about 2.2% below their record highs. India’s volatility index, India VIX, rose 1.5% to 12.5.

On the sectoral front, 6 out of 11 key sectoral indices ended in positive territory. The Nifty Financial Services index declined 0.09%, dragged down by Bajaj twins - Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv.

Bajaj Finance shares fell about 7.35% on Tuesday after the non-bank lender cut its asset growth forecast for FY26. The company now expects assets under management to grow 22%-23%, down from 24%-25%, due to rising bad loans in its SME portfolio.

Shrimp makers Apex Frozen, Avanti Feeds rose over 5% on India-US trade deal optimism

Broader markets showed mixed performance, with the Nifty Midcap 100  ending in positive territory and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index ending lower.

  • Britannia Industries share price drops nearly 3% on veteran Varun Berry's surprise exit.
  • Wine maker Sula Vineyards share price declined 1% after posting a drop in the September-quarter profit.
  • Jindal Stainless rose 2.52% on a second-quarter profit rise.

Lenskart IPO Extends Gains

Lenskart Solutions share price witnessed a muted listing on the Indian stock market yesterday, listing at ₹390 on the BSE — a discount of ₹12 or 2.99% to the issue price of ₹402. The stock extended its gains on the second day after listing, rising 3%..

Nifty IT - Top Gainer

The Nifty IT index was the top-gaining sector on Tuesday, extending yesterday's rally, and ended higher by 1.2%. Following this Nifty Auto index jumped by 1.07%, with 10 out of 15 constituents ending in positive territory. On the flip side, the Nifty PSU Bank index declined by 0.39%. 

Nifty 50: Top Pullers and Draggers of the Day

The key drivers of the index gains were:

  • HDFC Bank: +24.98 points
  • ICICI Bank: +17.12 points
  • Mahindra & Mahindra: +15.69 points

On the other hand, these stocks dragged the index:

  • Bajaj Finance: -44.03 points
  • Bajaj Finserv: -15.61 points
  • Kotak Mahindra Bank: -1.44 points

Broader Markets End Mixed

The broader market indices showed mixed performance on Tuesday. The Nifty Midcap 100 index jumped by 0.50%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 ended down by 0.21%. 

Market Breadth

As of November 11, 2025, the market breadth remained almost neutral. Out of 3,203 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,561 advanced, 1,562 declined, and 80 remained unchanged.
