Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE), a Schedule 'A' Mini Ratna Category I Company, has emerged as the Lowest bidder (L1) for the Next Generation Corvettes (NGC) Project for the Indian Navy. This significant development was confirmed during a Commercial Negotiation Committee (CNC) meeting convened by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in New Delhi on May 21, 2025, where commercial bids for the acquisition of eight NGCs were opened. As the L1 bidder, GRSE is set to be awarded the construction of five NGC ships, a contract estimated to be worth more than ₹25,000 crores.
As per the con-call of the company, the order book, as on December 31, stands at ₹23,877 crore. And this comprises 40 platforms from 10 projects. This includes:
For the quarter ended March 2025, the company reported a revenue from operations of ₹1,642.04 crore, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 61.66% compared to ₹1,015.73 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter stood at ₹244.25 crore, up by 118.87% from ₹111.60 crore in Q4FY24.
On an annual basis, for the financial year ended March 2025, the company recorded highest-ever revenue and profits. In FY25, revenue from operations was ₹5,075.69 crore, marking an increase of 41.28% over ₹3,592.64 crore reported in the previous financial year. The profit after tax for the year rose by 47.62%, reaching ₹527.40 crore compared to ₹357.27 crore in FY24.
The Board of Directors of the company has recommended a final dividend of ₹4.90 per equity share for the Financial year 2024-25, subject to the approval of the shareholders.
